1. General information
The main objective of this subject is for students to learn the most significant aspects of cardiovascular, endocrinological and nutritional pathology, and to acquire and develop the clinical skills that will allow them to focus on the medical attention to the patient affected by these pathologies.
These approaches and objectives are aligned with the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations Agenda 2030 (https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/es/), and specifically, the learning activities planned in this subject will contribute to the achievement of Goals 3 and 4.
2. Learning results
- To know the most characteristic and significant medical aspects of cardiovascular, endocrine and nutritional pathology and the basic principles of cardiac, vascular and endocrinological surgery.
- To apply and perfect the knowledge and skills previously acquired to be able to suspect and recognize the existence of a cardiovascular and endocrinological process in a patient.
- To know the name and fundamental applications of the most used and specific complementary tests for the diagnosis of cardiovascular and endocrinology and nutrition diseases.
- To formulate informed diagnoses of the most frequent cardiovascular, endocrinological and nutritional diseases based on the integration of clinical and other data from complementary tests applicable in each case.
- To propose the usual treatment measures for cardiovascular, endocrinological and nutritional diseases that are most frequently seen at various stages of their evolution, in the primary care setting.
- To identify the basic guidelines for the treatment of other cardiovascular, endocrinological and nutritional diseases that are not very prevalent or that are preferably treated in specialized care settings among those included in the theoretical program of this subject.

5. Assessment system
THEORY EVALUATION OF EACH SUBJECT: 70% of the final grade.
- Format: 40 multiple-choice questions with five options per question with only one correct answer. Not answered questions and incorrect answers will not be negatively evaluated.
- Grading: Pass with 70% of correct answers
EVALUATION OF SEMINARS/WORKSHOPS AND CLINICAL PRACTICES: 30% of the final grade.
- The final grade, between 0 and 3 points, will be based on:
- Attendance to practices and scheduled seminars/workshops: Mandatory
- Second part of the theoretical exam, in the same exercise and call: Six clinical cases in multiple choice format, with five possible answers, one correct, without penalties, at 0.5 points for each correct answer.
- FINAL GRADE FOR EACH SUBJECT
It will be the result of adding the final grades obtained in the evaluation of theory and in the evaluation of seminars/workshops and clinical cases.
- FINAL GRADE OF THE SUBJECT
It will be the weighted average (in relation to the credits of each part of the subject) of the grades obtained in the final grade of each of their subjects, once they have been passed separately.
